Emma Kornatowski, Master’s Level Intern

Hi, I’m Emma!

I am a Master’s level Counseling Intern currently pursuing my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, with an expected graduation date of December 2026. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University, where my interest in mental health and human development was first solidified.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults, and supporting them through both everyday challenges and periods of transition or emotional distress. I am drawn to these stages of life because they are often formative and filled with change, and I value the opportunity to support clients as they develop greater understanding of themselves and their experiences. I have a particular interest in working with children and adolescents with anxiety and panic, especially helping them learn, understand, and manage these feelings.

My clinical interests include:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • OCD

  • Depression

  • ADHD

  • Sleep concerns

  • Mood disorders

My approach to counseling is relational and collaborative, with an emphasis on trust, authenticity, and emotional safety. I use cognitive-behavioral techniques, family systems perspectives, narrative approaches, and mindfulness-based practices — strategies that focus on understanding thoughts and emotions, relationships, and lived experiences, while also developing helpful coping tools.

I bring experience from clinical and applied settings. During my undergraduate internship at Peachtree Comprehensive Health, I served as a facilitator for adolescent DBT groups. I am currently a program coordinator and coach at Kinetik, where I help individuals with ADHD and executive functioning challenges build skills related to organization, time management, and daily functioning.

In my personal time, I enjoy playing competitive pickleball, trying new sushi restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. I value connection and believe these moments of joy and grounding help inform the presence I bring to my work.

I look forward to working with you and supporting them as they move through life’s transitions and toward meaningful growth.
