Jazlyn Bain, LCSW
I'm Jazlyn, and I'm so glad you're here and exploring whether I might be the right fit for your therapeutic journey. I'm a quirky, direct, and empathetic therapist who strives to create an honest and caring space for growth. My goal is to help you find your voice, articulate your needs, and move through life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. I believe everyone has a unique path, even when society tries to tell us otherwise. I aim to make my clients feel seen—not crazy, not like a victim—but as whole and capable people navigating life’s complexity.
As an intensively trained Dialectical Behavior Therapist (DBT), I provide both individual and group therapy for teens, adults, and families aligning with the comprehensive DBT model. I also specialize in DBT for Children, supporting parents and caregivers in learning validation techniques and behavior strategies at home. I aim to be trauma-informed, and also specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support clients in processing trauma, emotional pain, and experiences of invalidation. I am trained to work with individuals across the lifespan, though I particularly enjoy working with teens, adults, and parents. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, adolescent challenges, relationship and interpersonal dynamics, mood and personality disorders, executive functioning, life transitions, emerging adulthood, and supporting minority populations.
Originally from Virginia, I earned both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I previously provided intensive in-home therapy in Wilmington, NC, and later moved to Atlanta, where I served as a behavioral specialist and DBT day program therapist at a non-profit organization.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my partner and daughter, reading and listening to audiobooks, visiting with our family in North Carolina, and trying new restaurants - well, eating in general.
Jazlyn is currently under the supervision of Dr. Kimberly Vay, LPC, CPCS, and Sarah Donnini, LCSW, CCS.
